Solving Radical Equations

Radical Equations are equations that include a radical on either one or both sides of the equation. Solving these equations involves simply canceling out said radical, then proceeding as if it were a usual equation.

Steps For Solving Radical Equations

1. Isolate the radical term
2. Raise the radical to the power which cancels out the radical
3. Raise the other side (not containing the radical) to the same power the side with the radical was raised to
4. Solve by whatever means necessary (ie. factoring if quadratic, addition/subtraction/multiplication/division if linear).
